Prices below are list prices as of October 2026, from official notices and booking platforms. There is often a cheaper way in: combined tickets, local discounts, the right day or the right gate. Ask us before you buy.

Discounts that apply almost everywhere

Taiwan first-timer free tickets

Since March 2025, Taiwan residents holding their FIRST Taiwan Compatriot Permit (issue count '01') get the first-gate ticket free at 320 Yunnan scenic areas (9 5A, 124 4A, 142 3A, 36 2A etc.) for one year from the permit's issue date. Show the permit at the ticket window (or select the Taiwan-permit free ticket when booking where real-name booking is required). Covers only the gate ticket — cable cars, shuttles, boats, hot springs and shows are extra. Includes e.g. Stone Forest, Hani Terraces, Yulong Snow Mountain, Tiger Leaping Gorge, Xishuangbanna Botanical Garden; in the west: Tengchong Volcano & Rehai, Heshun, Beihai Wetland, Yunfeng Mountain, Dieshuihe; Dehong: Mengbanaxi, Peacock Valley, Xianfo Cave, Silver Pagoda, Moli Rainforest, One Village Two Countries, Wanding; Zhaotong: Shuifu Western Grand Canyon and several 3A sites. First-time permits are fee-free if applied for between Jul 2025 and 31 Dec 2027.

Senior discounts

Common rule at Yunnan state-run A-grade sights: age 60–69 half price, 70+ free on the first-gate ticket, with valid ID showing age. Some sights (e.g. Beihai Wetland) only discount 70+. Rules usually apply to foreign passports too, but some sights accept only Chinese ID/senior cards — bring passport and ask. Extras (cable cars, shuttles) are rarely discounted.

Student and child discounts

Children: under 6 or ≤1.2 m free; 6–18 (or 1.2–1.4 m at some sights) half price — this is the norm under the national price guidance. Students: full-time undergraduates and below with a student ID get half price at most state-run sights; postgraduates and part-time students are often excluded (Stone Forest is an exception). Foreign university student cards are frequently not accepted; ISIC is not a guarantee.

Late-2026 provincial promotions

Autumn–winter 2026 (to 31 Dec 2026): Yunnan's Department of Culture and Tourism is running the 70-million-CNY 'Caiyun' culture-tourism consumer vouchers, open to all visitors entering Yunnan, as instant payment discounts (e.g. shows: spend 30 save 5 up to spend 300 save 50; cultural products; low-altitude flights spend 150 save 25 up to spend 600 save 100). Claimed via the department's WeChat account and UnionPay QuickPass (云闪付); released in batches until funds run out. A 1 Oct 2026 announcement adds 655 promotional events and 180 'benefit' measures for the autumn–winter season, including scenic-area items. No province-wide free-ticket day was found for Oct–Dec 2026; individual prefectures announce their own.
