About

Why YunnanHub exists

Yunnan is one of the most rewarding places in China to travel — and one of the hardest to plan from abroad.

Almost everything useful about traveling in Yunnan is written in Chinese. Millions of domestic travelers share honest reviews every year on Chinese travel apps: which cable car sells out, which lake looks better in photos than in person, which cheap tour will spend half the day in a jade shop. Very little of that reaches visitors from abroad.

YunnanHub closes that gap. We read what locals and regular visitors say, check it against local knowledge, and turn it into plain English guides you can actually follow.

Who we are

We’re a small team based in Yunnan, working with a network of local drivers and English-speaking guides we know personally. When you ask for help, a real person answers — usually the same person, from your first question to your last day.

How we work

  • No shopping stops. Our trips never include commission shops, and our guides aren’t paid to sell you anything.
  • Prices in writing. You see exactly what’s included before you pay.
  • Honest advice. If a famous sight isn’t worth your time in the season you’re traveling, we’ll tell you.
  • Licensed and insured. Our drivers and guides are licensed in Yunnan, and our vehicles are registered for passenger transport and insured.
  • Your pace. Independent travel with help on call, or a fully planned trip — you choose.

How we write

Every place, price and time on this site comes from Chinese sources a person read — mostly posts and reviews by locals and Chinese travelers — and is checked against current information before it goes up. We use translation and writing tools to help with the English. We never generate places, prices or reviews, and we don’t take money from the places we list.
