Mengzi
Mengzi claims Yunnan's best-known dish. The legend says a scholar studied on an island in the town's South Lake (南湖) and his wife carried soup across the bridge to him. You get a bowl of scalding broth under a layer of oil, plus plates of raw meat slices, quail egg, vegetables and rice noodles. Slide them in yourself, thinnest meat first.
