Ride Jianshui's old narrow-gauge train to Tuanshan village
Lin'an station, Jianshui
A tourist train runs from Lin'an station on a narrow-gauge line that first opened here in 1928. It stops for half an hour each at the Double Dragon Bridge (双龙桥), a 17-arch Qing bridge, and Xianghui Bridge (乡会桥), then gives you about two and a half hours in Tuanshan (团山), a village of carved family compounds, before running straight back. The round trip takes about four and a half hours.
What locals sayTravelers prefer the morning train for the light, and say Tuanshan's courtyards are the real reason to ride.
