At about 2,245 m in the hills above the Lancang, this enormous cultivated tea tree is dated by local surveys at more than 3,200 years and is often called the oldest of its kind. It stands inside a fence, and you view it from the railing. It lies in the same corner of northern Fengqing as Lushi, so pair the two, then add the Fengqing Confucian Temple (凤庆文庙) and a cup of Dianhong black tea in town.
What locals sayChinese tea fans know it as the Jinxiu 'tea ancestor' and come mainly to pay their respects.
