Stone Forest at opening time, then Naigu next door

The UNESCO-listed limestone pillars of the Stone Forest are genuinely striking, but the main paths fill with tour groups by late morning. Arrive at opening, walk the main area before the crowds, then move on to Naigu Stone Forest, which is wilder and much quieter. Avoid Chinese public holidays entirely.
