Make your own indigo tie-dye in a Zhoucheng workshop
Zhoucheng village, a few kilometers north of Xizhou
Zhoucheng is the Bai village most closely tied to Dali's blue-and-white tie-dye. Family workshops let you fold and bind your own cloth, dip it in the vat and wait while it's rinsed and dried. It pairs easily with a morning in Xizhou.
What locals sayMost posts say making a piece yourself beats buying one from the old-town stalls, and it's a good plan for a rainy day.
