Don't try to circle all of Erhai in one day

The full loop is well over 100 km of narrow lakeside road, and villages like Shuanglang and Xizhou jam up at weekends and holidays. People who cram it into a day spend most of it in traffic and see each stop for 20 minutes. Take one shore per day instead: the west for Xizhou and the lakeshore path, the east for Shuanglang and the sunset.
What locals sayReviews warn that lake roads are narrow and jammed and village taxis hard to find, so a one-day loop becomes a day in the car.
