The Avant-Garde bookstore chain opened this branch in September 2024, at about 1,800 m in a Lisu village some 30 minutes' drive above Liuku. Its café and open terrace look straight down the Nujiang canyon. It makes an easy first stop on the way north.
What locals sayA proper bookstore with a view this big, in a mountain village, is worth the detour even for non-readers.
